Shotley Peninsula Shoreline Community Interest Company was formed in 2018 to help save the Shotley shoreline from natural erosion. No government body is willing or obliged to take this responsibility. This not-for-profit voluntary organisation can apply for grants, secure necessary permits and engage contractors to undertake the work urgently needed to preserve our heritage.

The company takes guidance from the SPSCIC steering group. This is a self-regulated committee of volunteers who represent the wider interests of the community, and who collectively determine the nature of the work and supporting activities.
